New Ph.D. Position Available:

A Ph.D. position is available at Villanova University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, to conduct numerical simulations of biological and physiological flows. Financial support for tuition and stipend will be provided. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background in numerical methods and programming skills. Previous in-house code development experience is strongly preferred. The candidate is expected to start in fall 2020. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until filled.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong programming skills using Fortran is strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and computational methods

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.

  • A thesis-based Master’s degree is preferred.

  • GRE Quantitative section >=165 and Analytical writing >=4.0

  • TOEFL>=95 or IELTS>=7 (for international applicants only)
